Diomede  Islands


 Diomede islands are two rocky islands between Alaska and Siberia.  Big diomede(left) and Diomede (right) belongs to Russia and the USA. These are quite sensitive zones in the world on the Bering strait.

Big diomede.
This island belongs to the Russian nation. The island is generally a military base with over hundred staffs recruited. Both the islands are seperated by international boundaries and date line, due to this the Big diomede is 23 hours ahead of the other.

Diomede.
This island consists of native people who have lived here for a long time. According to the 2010 census the population of diomede is 115.

Due to this time difference big diomede is known as tomorrow island and diomede is known as yesterday island. Both these islands are seperated by a  4 km stretch of sea.
