AREA 51

Area 51 is actually a topic of speculation and widespread rumours. It is a place in the state of Nevada in the United States of America. It is actually a military installation/base of the United States Airforce(USAF). The name ''AREA 51'' was used to refer this place in the CIA documents during the Vietnam war. It is restricted to enter this place and sealed from public access. This place owned by the US Federal government has many conspiracies relating to extraterrestrial life and other experiments. There is constant secrecy maintained by the US government about its matters and purpose which has made it a very bizzare place on earth.

                                                                 Demilitarized Zone


The demilitarized zone (DMZ) or known as the 38th parallel is a demarcation line between North Korea and South Korea. It came into existence after the ceasefire of the Korean War and was built by the Democratic People's Republic Of Korea (DPRK).It is heavily guarded with about one million soldiers at the border. This zone has the Joint Security Area (JSA) where diplomatic officials from both sides have meetings over various issues. It stands across 250 kilometres. The North Korean government explicitly states that any citizen of its country attempting to cross the border is a punishable offence. There is no access to this but only through high special permission and the with the acknowledgement of the visitor of any hostile or violent action by the enemy in the border for which the government is not responsible. There has been cases of escapism from North Korea through the China border, but not through the DMZ. With such extreme security there has been an instance where a North Korean soldier who escaped the DMZ border through a portion which had weak security. Using the advantage he escaped to South Korea. This has been considered a very dangerous place on earth due to the strict rules imposed.

DOOR TO HELL is a natural gas field in Turkmenistan. It collapsed in to an underground cavern in 1971, and looks like a meteorite crash site currently. It was set on fire by the geologists of the SOVIET UNION to prevent the spreading of METHANE. Since then it has been burning due to the NATURAL GAS deposits beneath the ground.

This crater is 69 meters in diameter and 30 meters deep. Touristers are mainly attracted to this spot for DESERT CAMPING.

The geologists of the SOVIET UNION expected that this place had underground contents of oil, instead they found natural gas in 1971. It has been burning for the past 40 years. Turkmenistan government is currently trying to expand the export of natural gas to countries like India , Pakistan, China.

Diomede  Islands

 Diomede islands are two rocky islands between Alaska and Siberia.  Big diomede(left) and Diomede (right) belongs to Russia and the USA. These are quite sensitive zones in the world on the Bering strait.

This island belongs to the Russian nation. The island is generally a military base with over hundred staffs recruited. Both the islands are seperated by international boundaries and date line, due to this the Big diomede is 23 hours ahead of the other.

This island consists of native people who have lived here for a long time. According to the 2010 census the population of diomede is 115.

Due to this time difference big diomede is known as tomorrow island and diomede is known as yesterday island. Both these islands are seperated by a  4 km stretch of sea.
